Simple Requirements

Completion requirement

Degree/Credit Requirement
 Applicants must have completed one of the following with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher:

  • An Associate in Applied Science (AAS) or equivalent degree, or

  • At least 90 college-level credits from an accredited institution.

 Good Standing Requirement
 Applicants must be in good standing with their current or previous college.

Note: Students who do not meet the requirement(s) may petition for an individual review by submitting a letter of explanation to the program chair.

Completion requirement
  • A minimum of 180 credits in courses numbered 100 or above.

  • At least 25% of the applicable credits must be earned at Tacoma Community College.

    • TCC’s bachelor’s degree programs follow a 2+2 model, meaning students must complete an associate degree—or a minimum of 90 transferable credits—prior to admission into the bachelor’s program. Therefore, students enrolled in these programs are required to complete at least 25% of the final 90 credits at TCC to meet residency requirements.

    • Students who plan to apply coursework earned at another institution other than TCC to this degree must submit an official transcript to Enrollment Services for evaluation. All coursework must be from a regionally accredited institution to be considered for equivalency. TCC may also accept transfer credits for professional/technical programs if the credits are from an institution with a related program accreditation. For more information, visit Transfer Credits to TCC or Enrollment Services in Building 7.

  • All required courses must be completed with a grade of C or higher to count towards degree completion except where otherwise noted.

  • A cumulative grade point average of 2.00 in the coursework that is applied to the degree.

  • After completing all degree requirements, students must apply to graduate. Instructions to Apply to Graduate can be found here or by visiting Enrollment Services in Building 7.

Fulfill ALL of the following requirements:
Earn a minimum grade of C in the following:

Students looking to strengthen their reading and writing skills, and to increase their success in ENGL&101 are encouraged to enroll concurrently in course: Tools for Reading and Writing. This course may be applied as a college-level elective towards degree requirements.

AND
Earn at least 5 credits from the following:

Course must completed with a minimum grade of C.

Complete ALL of the following Courses:

CU103 or CU105 with a minimum grade of C required prior to CU203.
CU203 with a minimum grade of B
required prior to BUS320.
Students who hold the Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel Associate Certification may be able to use it as a substitute for CU203. To initiate the substitution process or for additional information, students should contact Computer User (CU) Coordinator Christine Cerny.
